CURL TALK - Hair Care Regimen - Moisturize* Seal * Define

I would like to begin by thanking all of our curlfriends in The Curl Shop Curly Crew Community for providing great feedback on our products and our social media outlets.  Your support is appreciated and your questions and requests for more information will continued to be answered in our BLOG.

One of the most popular questions we receive is "How do I get rid of the frizz?", "How do I combat the dryness?"  My answer is MSD!  What we know is dryness and frizz are synonymous and can both benefit from our MSD regimen which leads to beautiful manageable curls.

What is MSD? 

M - moisturize! 

We advise you to make sure the hair is properly conditioned so it will be receptive to holding on to the moisture you give it.  At least once per month use a RECONSTUCTING conditioner, such as our Cinnamon Roll Repair Conditioner, and process with heat under a dryer or heating cap for at least 30 minutes.   After every wash be sure to use our Blueberry Muffin Leave In Conditioner/ Detangler to make the hair manageable and reduce breakage.  On a daily basis once or more per day, use a moisturizer and ultimate frizz fighter like our Vanilla Milkshake Hydrating Mist to freshen up

curls.  

Properly conditioned hair holds moisture.  You must re-hydrate daily.

S - seal! 

Once you have hydrated the hair you need to seal it to hold in the moisture.  Sealing can be archived many ways.  The most common techniques use an oil or a cream or a combination of both.  We like to use the Oatmeal Cookie Dough Daily Moisture Masque to seal in moisture.  You simply rub a small amount in the palm of your hand then apply to moist hair.  Massage or comb through to make sure each strand is covered to ensure success.

When the hair is sealed properly you will minimize frizz and show off healthy beautiful curls.

D - define! 

So you have properly conditioned the hair and is it MOISTURIZED.  You then SEALED in the moisture and have created full frizz fee curls.  Now you want to give the curls more definition and protect them in the curly state.  To do so we recommend using our S'more Styling Puddy.  It is an alcohol free styling aid that will keep the curls defined and frizz free.
